Covid-19

The Australian Physiotherapy is supplying ongoing advice to physiotherapists regarding Covid-19 and how best to keep both clients and practitioners safe.

Clients and staff are asked to stay at home and self isolate if they have any typical Covid-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, loss of smell/taste or any other flu-like symptoms. In states where there is local transmission of the virus, or if there is any suspected contact, a test is recommended at a fever clinic. Self isolation is mandatory until a negative test is confirmed.

Physiotherapy Practices in WA currently carry out the following recommendations:

1. Front door signage reminding clients not to enter if they fit any criteria mentioned above.

2. Hand sanitiser at the front door.

3. Social distancing in the waiting areas.

4. No more than two people in Pilates and exercise classes, with social distancing in place

(preference is for one to one Pilates and exercise classes).

5. Disposable linen and face-sheets for treatment benches.

6. Surfaces in treatment room wiped down between clients.

7. Surfaces and equipment in exercise areas wiped down on a regular basis.
